Suomessa sairastuu vuosittain yli 5 000 naista sekä noin 20 miestä rintasyöpään. Rintojen oireiden sekä jo löydetyn tai hoidetun rintasyövän perusteella voidaan tehdä mammografia erikoissairaanhoidossa. Mammografia on rintojen tutkimiseen spesifioitu röntgentutkimusmenetelmä, jossa rinta puristetaan detektorin eli kuvalevyn sekä puristuskaukalon väliin. Kuvia rinnoista otetaan monesta eri suunnasta mahdollisen muutoksen havaitsemiseksi. Mammografiahoitajan työ on itsenäistä ja haastavaa, ja tämän takia perehdytys on suuressa osassa uuden työntekijän astumista mammografiatyöskentelyyn, jotta voidaan varmistaa laadukas työskentely. Perehdytys on lakisääteistä ja siitä vastaa esimies. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli tuottaa perehdytyksen muistilista Etelä-Karjalan keskussairaalan röntgenhoitajille, jotka työskentelevät mammografia- ja rintatutkimuksissa. Perehdytyksen muistilistan avulla he voivat perehdyttää uusia työntekijöitä sekä opiskelijoita. Perehdytyslista toimii yhdessä perehdyttäjällä sekä perehtyjällä. Opinnäytetyön tuotoksen tavoitteena on tukea röntgenhoitajan perehtymistä mammografiayksikköön. Työlleni oli selkä tarve, sillä kyseisellä mammografiayksiköllä ei ole aiemmin ollut perehdytyssuunnitelmaa. Tavoitteena on perehdytyksen muistilistan avulla lisätä työn sujuvuutta sekä potilasturvallisuutta. Opinnäytetyön tilaaja oli Etelä-Karjalan sosiaali- ja terveyspiiri eli Eksote. Opinnäytetyö oli kehittämistyö, joka toteutettiin yhteistyössä työn tilaajan kanssa. Työni oli ennalta suunniteltu sekä sille oli aikataulu. Opinnäytetyön teoriaosa keskittyi mammografiatutkimuksiin, rintojen taydentäviin tutkimuksiin sekä potilasturvallisuuteen ja perehdytykseen. Tiedonhaku suoritettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksen avulla useista eri tietokannoista ja perehdytyksen muistilistan tekemiseen käytettiin myös osallistuvaa havainnointia sekä vapaata haastattelua. Perehdytyksen muistilista on tehty Word-pohjalle ja sähköisenä lähetetty työn tilaajalle. Työn tilaajalle jää käyttö- sekä muokkausoikeudet tuotokseen. Perehdytyksen muistilista vastasi mammografiahoitajien toiveita, sillä heidän ehdotuksensa otettiin huomioon läpi työn. Jatkoaiheena opinnäytetyölleni voisi selvittää, kuinka hyvin perehdytyksen muistilista käytännössä toimii sekä täyttyivätkö sille asettamani tavoitteet. Annually over 5000 women and a few dozens of men get breast cancer one year in Finland. Symptoms of the breast cancer and already found or treated breast cancer is a reason to do a mammography screening in special healthcare. Mammography screening is specified radiography screening, where the breast is pressed between the detector in other words imaging disc and pressure paddle. Pictures of the breast are taken on many directions to notice any possible changes. The work of a mammography radiographer is independent and challenging and this is the reason why introduction is a big part of a new employee’s stepping into mammography screening, so that quality work is insured. Introduction is statutory, and superior is responsible for it. The purpose of this thesis was to make an introduction checklist for the radiographers in South-Karelian central hospital, who work in mammography- and breast screening. With help of the checklist they can induct new workers and students. The checklist is meant to help both the instructor and the student/new worker. The aim of the checklist is to support the introduction to mammography unit. There is a clear need for the checklist, because the unit in question did not have an introduction program before. The aim is to increase work fluency and patient safety. The orderer of this thesis is South Karelia Social and Health Care District. This thesis was a development project which was made in co-operation from the thesis orderer. This thesis was premeditated, and it had a schedule. The theory part of this thesis focused on mammography screening, complementary examination of breast and patient safety and introduction. Information was gathered with literature rewiev on multiple database and committed observation. Free interview was also used in making the checklist. The checklist for introduction is made on a word-base and send digitally to the orderer. The orderer gets using- and modification rights to the checklist. The checklist for introduction came up to expectations for radiographers working in mammography because their suggestiong suggestions were considered through the work. A Follow-up idea for this thesis could be how well the checklist for introduction works in practice and did the aim I set to it complete.
