| Summary: | Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on laatia luonnontuotteita painottava metsänhoidon suunnitelma yksityisen metsänomistajan käyttöön. Suunnitelman kohdealueena on metsätilaan kuuluva noin 48 hehtaarin laajuinen metsälö. Lähitulevaisuudessa koko metsätilan ja samalla kyseisen metsälön omistus siirtyy uudelle sukupolvelle ja uusi omistaja on kiinnostunut hyödyntämään metsiä luonnontuotteiden tavoitteellisessa tuotannossa. Luonnontuotteiden tavoitteellinen tuotanto on osa agrometsätaloutta. Agrometsätalous on käsitteenä vielä melko tuntematon Suomessa, vaikka sen menetelmiä meillä joissain määrin sovelletaankin. Opinnäytetyön viitekehys avaa agrometsätalouden käsitettä yleisesti ja syventyy sitten tarkemmin tekijöihin, jotka vaikuttavat taloudellisesti tärkeimpien luonnonmarjojen, havupuiden pihkan sekä pakurikäävän satotasoihin ja saantoihin, sekä menetelmiin, joilla näihin tekijöihin voidaan vaikuttaa parempien satojen ja saantojen toivossa. Viitekehys käsittelee myös niitä reunaehtoja, joiden puitteissa luonnontuotteita voidaan metsäympäristössä tuottaa. Reunaehdot muodostuvat tässä kyseisessä tapauksessa pääosin metsän käyttöä ja hoitoa ohjaavasta lainsäädännöstä sekä metsäsertifioinnista. Lisäksi huomioon voidaan ottaa esimerkiksi kestävän metsätalouden rahoituslaki, metsän hoidon suositukset sekä luonnonmukaisen keruutuotannon harjoittaminen. Suunnitelmaan valittujen toimenpiteiden perustana ovat maastokäynnit, metsätilalle laadittu metsäsuunnitelma, kartat, valokuvat, opinnäytetyöntekijän kokemusperäinen tieto alueesta sekä luonnontuotteiden tämän hetkinen markkinatilanne. Kerätyn lähdeaineiston perusteella työssä käsiteltäviksi luonnontuotteiksi valittiin taloudellisesti tärkeimmät luonnonmarjat, havupuiden pihka ja pakurikääpä. Opinnäytetyön tuloksena valmistui metsäkuviokohtainen suunnitelma metsänomistajan käyttöön. Suunnitelma sisältää kuviokohtaiset tiedot tuotettavista luonnontuotteista sekä vaadittavat toimenpiteet. Toimenpiteet käsittävät luonnonpölyttäjien elinolosuhteiden parantamisen sekä tarhamehiläisten käytön pölytyksen tehostajina, metsän käsittelyn mustikan, puolukan ja variksenmarjan tuotantoalueilla, hillan puoliviljelyn suoalueille, pihkanvalutukseen tarkoitettujen metsien käsittelyn ja pakurikäävän viljelyyn soveltuvien koivikoiden käsittelyn. Tuleva metsänomistaja voi hyödyntää työssä esitettyjä menetelmiä käytännössä ja edelleen soveltaa niitä metsätilansa muihin kohteisiin. Tulokset antavat mallia ja suuntaviivoja luonnontuotteiden tuotantoa painottavan metsäsuunnittelun kehittämiseen, sillä opinnäytetyö on tiettävästi ensimmäinen laatuaan aiheesta Suomessa. Tuloksista hyötyvät myös muut aiheesta kiinnostuneet metsänomistajat. The purpose of this thesis is to create a forestry plan for a private forest owner, which considers producing non-timber forest products in a selected forest holding. The selected forest holding is about 48 hectares wide and it is part of a larger forest estate. In the near future ownership of the forest estate will transfer to a next generation and the new owner is interested in a goal-directed production of non-timber forest products. The goal-directed production of non-timber forest products is one form of agroforestry. The concept of agroforestry is not very well known in Finland. Therefore, the first theory part of this thesis will explain summarily the concept of agroforestry. The second and the main part of the theory will cover the factors that effect on yields of wild berries, conifer resin and chaga mushroom, and how to affect these factors in order to receive increased yields. There are also terms, which can restrictively affect the production of non-timber forest products in the forests, for example a forest legislation and a voluntary forest certification. These terms are presented in the third part of the theory. The non-timber forest products and the procedures that were selected to the plan were based on field investigations, a forestry plan of the forest estate, maps, photographs, experiential knowledge and the current market situation of the non-timber forest products. The selected non-timber forest products were: bilberry, lingonberry, crowberry and cloudberry, conifer resin and chaga mushroom. As a result of this thesis, a plan for each forest compartment was created. Plan consist enhancement of the habitats of wild bees, use of honey bees as pollinators and management of the forests or peatlands in order to receive increased yields of wild berries, conifer resin and/or chaga mushrooms. The forest owner can bring the results into practice and also introduce them into other forest holdings within the forest estate. As far as is known, this thesis is the first one in Finland, to create a forestry plan that considers producing of non-timber forest products. Therefore it gives important example for creating an official practice guidelines. Results will also benefit other forest owners interested in the subject.
