It is a course which was supported by the Centre for Canadian Studies of Stockholm University. The course is designed to introduce students to a variety of aspects related to the history, culture and literature of Canadian society. The course then looks at the challenges facing Canada in the 21st Century with focus on immigration and multiculturalism, the First Nations, gender equality, specific regions in Canada with special emphasis on Québec, and Canada's cultural identity. The lecture gives an overview of the history of the French Canadians between 1700 and 1867. In 1867, the Confederation of Canada was officially created but how was it possible? What are the implications on the Canadian identity? Text First Nations Stockholm University: Fighsare Canada Plains of Abraham ENVELOPE(-127.670,-127.670,64.567,64.567)
