Summary: | The ultraviolet radiation and the total ozone have been monitored in Norrköping, Sweden, since 1983. From these data it has been possible to develop a simple empirical model to compute the distibution of UV in Sweden. The result is presented as monthly maps. Samples of measured UV spectra are presented and their dependence on solar elevation and total ozone. Monthly values of UV-A, UV-B and weighted UV (DUV) is also given. The potential of measuring the sky UV radiance distribution is demonstrated as well as the capability of the Brewer to measure sulphur dioxide. A volcanic eruption on Iceland caused enhanced sulphur dioxide values in Sweden.
