Falleg Plága. Viðhorf og upplifun íbúa höfuðborgarsvæðis til lúpínu

Alaskalúpína er merkilegt blóm sem hefur mikið verið rætt um hér á landi. Annarvegar var hún innflutt til þess að græða fokið land en hins vegar er hún ágeng framandi tegund sem getur unnið gegn líffræðilegum fjölbreytileika. Það hafa verið gerðar ýmsar rannsóknir á þeim áhrifum sem lúpína getur haft á íslenskt landslag, auk þess sem að orðræðan í kringum lúpínuna hefur verið tekin sérstaklega fyrir. Ekki hefur verið gerð rannsókn á viðhorfi og upplifunum almennings á plöntunni. Þessi rannsókn fjallar um viðhorf almennra íbúa höfuðborgarsvæðisins á plöntunni. Auk þess er fjallað um möguleika þess að nota kortagerð til rannsóknar af þessu tagi. Lagður var fyrir spurningingalisti ásamt kortum sem fólk var beðið var að merkja inn á. Það sem mótaði neikvætt viðhorf til lúpínu var ágengni plönturnar á meðan jákvætt viðhorf mótaðist helst af fegurð plöntunnar. Með kortum var hægt fá enn betri mynd á muninum milli ýmis konar áhrifaþátta og greina hvernig upplifun á plöntunni skiptist eftir áhrifaþáttum. The Nootka lupine is a flower with an interesting history in Iceland. On one hand the reason that the flower was brought to Iceland was to reclaim land that eroded because of human overuse, but on the other hand it is an invasive alien species that has threatened the native biodiversity in Iceland. Numerous studies have been carried out on the effect that the lupine can have on the Icelandic landscape. The rhetoric surrounding the lupine has also specifically been addressed. No research has been done on the public's attitude towards the lupine. This research deals with the attitude of the general population of the capital region towards the plant. In addition, the possibilities in using cartography for research of this kind are discussed. A list of questions was presented along with maps that people were asked to mark.
