| Summary: | Þessi greinargerð er annar hluti tveggja þátta lokaverkefnis í Hagnýtri menningarmiðlun við Háskóla Íslands. Hinn hluti þess er miðlunarverkefni í formi hlaðvarpsþátta. Verkefnið tekur þróun íslenskra útfararhefða og samband fólks við dauðann á síðustu 150 árum til skoðunar. Þessi þróun er rædd út frá hugtökunum tabú (e. taboo) og firring (e. alienation). Í byrjun er gerð grein fyrir hugtökum og notkun þeirra. Þá er þróun útfara og viðhorfs fyrir 19. öld rekin fyrir sögulegt samhengi. Þá eru breytingar 19. og 20. aldar ræddar. Að lokum er fjallað um framkvæmd hlaðvarpsþáttanna og töku þriggja viðtala fyrir þá. Að auki er fjallað um þá þróun sem virðist eiga sér stað í samtímanum út frá niðurstöðum viðtala. This thesis is one part of a two part masters project in Applied Cultural Studies and Communication at the University of Iceland. Its other part is a mediation project in the form of a podcast series. The project examines the development of Icelandic funerary traditions and peoples relationship with death in the past 150 years. This development is examined through the concepts of taboo and alienation. In the beginning there is an explanation of the concepts and their usage. Then the development of funerary rites and views toward them before the 19th century is discussed for historical context. Then the change of the 19th and 20th century are examined. Finally there is a discussion of the execution of the podcast series and the interviews that appear there. The results of the interviews also give insight into the development that may be taking place in current times. |
