Description
Summary:The focus on health has dramatically increased in past years. Furthermore, research in sleep shows that sleep quality is a critical part of people’s physical health and emotional well-being. The Sleep Revolution is a Horizon 2020 project, funded by the European Union and Reykjavík University is the organizer of the project The aim of the project is to collect different types of sleep data from 40,000 individuals retrospectively, and to collect subjective data (from digital tools) in combination with objective data (from sensors) with 1,300 individuals in prospective studies over the next three years. In the prospective studies, the project promises its participants that they can look at their results and the data collected. Additionally, participants in the prospective studies can control their data and stop their participation at any point and ask that their data is removed. A digital platform called SleepWell was designed and developed to enable this. The SleepWell platform has multiple responsibilities, but its main one is to reward the participation with high user experience and allowing the participants to be able to look into the data collected on themselves. Furthermore, the SleepWell platform is becoming a crucial tool for data collection, which is one of the most critical parts of the project. The SleepWell platform is being made into a flexible tool that can access both raw and already processed data, making the possibilities endless. In this project, the focus is three-fold: i) to design and develop a chat functionality; ii) to design and develop an export functionality, and; iii) to design and develop an overview. These three components were developed within the existing architecture of the SleepWell platform, and those are the focus point of this final project. A chat function is necessary to connect the participants to their healthcare professionals, and to research coordinators. A user-friendly communication method is essential since the participant’s role can vary in difficulty, they can have ...
