Breytt ástand is a final project for an MA degree in creative writing. It’s a collection of short stories about people living on the edge of society, which is disturbingly close to Icelandic suburbs. The setting is Iceland, from millennium until current times. The style is sometimes raw, simple but still artistic, and reflects the characters emotional situation.
