Maðurinn sækir gjarnan í náttúruna í leit að skjóli frá hraða og amstri samtímans. Hér er náttúran höfð í forgrunni og þau hughrif og tilfinningar sem stórfengleiki hennar kallar fram er fléttaður við vistþorp sem rís í aðeins tíu mínútna siglingafjarlægð frá Reykjavík. Í þorpinu mætast tvennir tímar og er minni fyrri tíðar samfélags dregið fram á ný. Einfaldleiki, samkennd og samvinna eru einkenni byggðarinnar. Leitast er við að tálga allan óþarfa í burtu og mæta aðeins grunnþörfum þorpsbúa. Fjölbreytt rými mæta þörfum notenda, hvort sem leitað er eftir einveru og kyrrð eða eflingu félagslegra tengsla. Einföld og hrá efniskennd fléttast við nærumhverfi. People seek shelter in nature from the speed and turmoil of our contemporary times. Here the nature is brought to the forefront and the emotions and feelings that arise by its grandeur are entwined with the eco-village that rises in ten minutes sailing distance from Reykjavík. In the village the memory of the past and its people are evoked. Simplicity, empathy and cooperation are key elements in the settlement. Efforts are made to eliminate all unnecessary items and to meet only the basic needs of the inhabitants. Diverse spaces meet the needs of users, whether they are seeking solitude and tranquillity or to strengthen their social connections. The materiality is simple and raw and rhymes with the local environment.
