Since traditional procurement strategies tend to result in cost overruns and lawsuits, procurers have sought out to other alternatives. Collaboration contracting in inter-organizational relationships are believed to enhance trust and collaboration between the parties. There are some engineering driven approaches and tools that are used in a project delivery that encourage collaborative relationship. There are laws and legislations that need to be pursued when procuring in the public sector. In this study the focus will be on the current status of collaboration contracting in the Nordic countries, since little information are available on the matter in Iceland. The attitude towards collaboration contracting in Iceland is analyzed and observations are made if similar implementations are possible in Iceland, like in the other Nordic countries. Samningagerð er stór partur af opinberum innkaupum. Hefðbundar innkaupaleiðir geta oft reynst kostnaðarsamar eða endað í lögsóknum og því hafa Norðurlöndin leitað nýrra leiða. Samvinnusamningar sem gerðir eru utan stofnana eru taldir efla traust og samvinnu milli aðila innan samningsins. Til eru bæði verkfræðilegar aðgerðir og verkfæri sem notaðar eru í afhendingu verkefna sem hvetja til samvinnusambands. Þá eru einnig til lög og reglugerðir sem vert er að fylgja í opinberum innkaupum. Staða samvinnusamninga á Norðurlöndunum er skoðuð í þessari ritgerð og þar sem lítið hefur verið fjallað um þetta efni á Íslandi er viðhorf gagnvart samvinnusamningum hérlendis skoðað. Reynt er að komast að því hvort svipaðar innleiðingar og gerðar hafa verið á Norðurlöndunum séu mögulegar hér á landi og hvort að áhugi fyrir því sé raunverulega til staðar.
