Markmið þessa verkefnis var að kanna hvort markaður væri til staðar í Reykjavík fyrir nýja og töluvert öðvísi háskólagarða. Skoðað var bæði viðmót, skynjun og ánægju erlenda skiptinema á núverandi háskólagörðum og mikilvægi þeirra. Í þessari rannsókn var lagður fram spurningalisti, sem var aðal mælitækið til erlenda skiptinema sem var markshópur þessa verkefnis. Samtals tóku 100 manns þátt í könnunni, 43 KK og 57 KVK. Niðurstöður sýndu að mikill fylgni var á milli núverandi leigu og leiguskilyrða hjá úrtakinu. Einning voru sterk tengsl og fylgni milli núverandi leigu og vöntun á nýjum háskólagörðum í Reykjavík. Aukin forvitni var líka á að rannsaka ánægjustig úrtaksins enn frekar í gegnum t-próf. En það kom í ljós að verulegur munur var á meðtali milli kynjanna í núverandi leiguskilyrðum, en ekki núverandi leigu. The goal of this thesis was to investigate if there is a market in Reykjavík, for a new and a slightly different student housing. Among the things investigated were the interface, perception and the overall satisfaction. That foreign exchange students have in regards of the current student housing and their importance. The main measurement tool used was in the form of a questionnarie, which was handed out to a target group of foreign exchange students living in Reykjavík. The total amount of participants in the questionnarie was 100 people, more precisely 43 males and 57 females. The results showed variables such as the present rent, present renting conditions and a statement concerning the lack of new student housing in Reykjavík. The correlation was very high among the variables of present rent, and present renting conditions among the samples tested. There was also a strong connection and correlation between the variables of present rent, and a statement concerning the lack of new student housing in Reykjavík.
