In this study, furthermore, a novel mannolipid was discovered in triglycosylceramide components from whole tissues of the antarktic krill. Its carbohydrate structure was characterized as Manα 1-3 Manβ1-4 Gal, not previously described, by gas-liquid chromatography, permethylation study, partial acid hydrolysis and exoglycosidase degradation.
