The proposed project will extend from the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and Business 59 to the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 71. It will have a total length of roughly 2.6 miles (4.2 kilometers) and range from 320 to 600 feet (98 to 183 meters) in width. The proposed project will include approximately 123 acres (49.8 hectares) of existing right of way (ROW) and will require approximately 15.3 acres (6.2 hectares) of new ROW. The intensive pedestrian survey was conducted by Atkins personnel on February 17–19, 2014. Due to land access issues at the time of the survey, 8.0 acres (3.2 hectares) of the total 15.3 acres of new ROW were unable to be surveyed. These parcels were visually inspected from the existing ROW. The work was conducted under Texas Antiquities Permit No. 6769. No cultural resources were located or recorded during the course of the survey. No artifacts were collected, and all project records and photographs will be curated at the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory at The University of Texas at Austin.
