(Herb) Klein of Dallas, Tex. Klein shot the bear last spring on Kodiak Island. His guides were Bill Pinnell and Morris Talifson of Kodiak. The bear's hide measured 8 feet 11 inches from nose to tail, the largest Jonas had seen in his 14 years' experience as a taxidermist. The front claws are 4 1/2 inches long. Jonas' assistant, Bert Kleinberger, worked on the bear's feet. The mounting cost Klein $1,500. - Times staff photo by Vic Condiotty." The 1953 City Directory lists the company at 1712 Broadway.
