Summary: | Transcribed from newspaper caption on back of photograph: "Giant from Alaska: Mounting of an Alaska brown bear, one of the largest ever to come out of the Far North, was completed yesterday by Guy Jonas (right, above), Seattle taxidermist, for H.W. (Herb) Klein of Dallas, Tex. Klein shot the bear last spring on Kodiak Island. His guides were Bill Pinnell and Morris Talifson of Kodiak. The bear's hide measured 8 feet 11 inches from nose to tail, the largest Jonas had seen in his 14 years' experience as a taxidermist. The front claws are 4 1/2 inches long. Jonas' assistant, Bert Kleinberger, worked on the bear's feet. The mounting cost Klein $1,500. - Times staff photo by Vic Condiotty." The 1953 City Directory lists the company at 1712 Broadway.
