Description
Summary:The four quad-polarized data sets listed here were used in our study to evaluate in detail the ionospheric Faraday rotation estimates over oceans. They have been read by PolSARpro and each contains four scattering matrix elements in binary format. The corresponding original data were retrieved through the website of the Alaska Satellite Facility Distribute Active Archive Centre (ASF DAAC). These data were acquired by the Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS) Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR). The first full-polarimetric data set (data identity: ALPSRP276286330) comes from Peninsula Valdes, Argentina, near the South Atlantic Ocean. The second full-polarimetric data set (data identity: ALPSRP278760080) comes from Cayenne, French Guiana, near the Atlantic Ocean. The third full-polarimetric data set (data identity: ALPSRP275850240) comes from La Guajira, Colombia, adjacent to the Caribbean Sea. The fourth full-polarimetric data set (data identity: ALPSRP275990110) comes from Saramacca, Suriname, adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean. Thanks the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and ASF DAAC for providing these high-quality ALOS PALSAR quad-polarized data.
