After 1150 combat hours of flying, Parker is back in the United States. With the caveat "Please do not publish or reproduce this letter," he proceeds to describe the problems of the Aleutian Islands Campaign. He writes that Kiska Island "will not be in Jap hands much longer." They found the US forces unprepared, and he details the struggles with transport issues, including the fact that "of the first 10 transport crews .only four of us returned." Lauren C. Post Box 4, Folder 4; this is an interesting account of a portion of the war that has received little attention.
