Which role do intellectuals play in a time of crisis? How do political and social changes affect cultural practices? And how do crises emboss cultural identities? The publication observes the relationship between politics and art, the challenge of dealing with archival materials and language, feminism, theatre and body, and the funding through cultural institutions. »Call for Applications!« collects 145 questions as an application prepared by eight artists and cultural producers in the frame of a collaborative artistic work entitled »Syrian Association for Cultural Support«. The application opens a space of self-reflection and invites the reader to answer its questions which were prepared by: Dara Abdallah, Fadi Al-Hamwi, Kenan Darwich, Sulafa Hijazi, Sari Mustafa, Sami Rustom, Nowar Yusuf, Omar Nicolas.
