Optimization of micro-diets for turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) post-larvae in RAS on an industrial scale

Flatlantic, S.A., a Portuguese aquaculture company founded in 2006 and located in Praia de Mira (Coimbra, Portugal), is Europe's second largest producer of flatfish and the leading aquaculture company in Portugal. Flatlantic operates in an intensive system, with land-based facilities, producing around 3 000 tons of fish a year, specifically of the species Scophthalmus maximus (turbot) and Solea senegalensis (Senegalese sole). As well as developing technical skills in aquaculture on an industrial scale, with a special focus on the production of juvenile turbot, this curricular internship also aimed to develop skills in Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) within the scope of the host organization's activity. The R&D&I project involved assessing the effectiveness of different diets on the growth of juvenile turbot, through systematic experimentation and the collection, processing and analysis of data.
