Des recherches sur l'evolution du pergélisol la seconde année après un incendie de forét ont été entreprises sur le terrain dans la région de Gu Liang Ming appartenant aux crètes du Great Xin' An (en chinois: Da Hingan Ling). Après l'incendie, la température de l'air, celle du sol, l'évaporation (mesurée dans des r°Cipients) et la vitesse du vent ont augmenté tandis que l'humidité, la glace du sol et le contenu en eau de celui‐ci ont diminué. Ces changements ont conduit à une augmentation de la profondeur du dégel saisonnier et ont provoqué de grandes modifications dans le domaine du pergélisol.
