The analysis takes into consideration specializations, levels of training (either training programs for skilled workers or mid-level training programs) and regions. The paper further outlines the effect of educational mismatch of VET graduates on their wages. The analysis is based on the Labor Force Survey (2016-2019) and the National Statistical Survey of Graduate Employment (2016), both conducted by the Russian Federal State Statistic Service (Rosstat).- Almost 60% of VET graduates report to be well-matched to their employment in terms of their education. The share of matched graduates reaches its peak in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The lowest share is present in Oryol Oblast, Bryansk Oblast, Murmansk Oblast, The Republic of Mordovia, The Altai Republic and the Tyva Republic.- Graduates of mid-level training programs who report to be well-matched to their job are mostly employed as nursing staff and primary school teachers. Among skilled workers matching is mostly common among cooks and drivers. The majority of mismatched VET graduates are employed as sales people and security guards. education institutions, preschool education, education market Article in Journal/Newspaper Chukotka Chukotka Autonomous Okrug khanty khanty-mansi Murmansk Oblast Mansi RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) Murmansk |
