| Summary: | Climate change that is affecting the Arctic more significantly than the rest of the world brings new important opportunities for the Northern Sea Route. If the latter has been the subject of extensive research and expeditions since the 16th century and largely served as national route for the Soviet Union, its usage for international navigation becomes real nowadays.
