Summary: | The level of gamma-globulins shows greater variability in young voles, Microtus arvalis (Pallas, 1779), as compared with middle-aged individuals. A particularly large variability of this index was observed in breeding voles captured in early summer. The correlation between the population density and variability in the level of gamma-globulins is significant for low-density populations (northern Poland), being positive for sexually monactive voles, while negative for reproducing animals.
