The Antarctic nature is as fascinating as the world seen just after the Creation, still untrodden by human feet. Therefore, in the “American natural sublime” there is a primigenial and perturbing beauty still unknown in Europe. The essay analyzes the narrative modes used by the author in order to describe this peculiar nature.
