Zum Vorkommen der Elfenbeinmöwe Pagophila eburnea PHIPPS auf Spitzbergen im 17. Jahrhundert
On July 10th, 1671 Friderich Martens shot an Ivory Gull, Pagophila eburnea Phipps, near Langgrunnodden (Nordaustlandet, Spitsbergen) on 80°43' N 17°40' E. This was very near the place, where Malmgren found the first colony of this species in Spitsbergen on July 7th, 1861.
