Description
Summary:Most of the salmon caught off Greenland originate in the rivers of eastern Canada and Maine. Denmark, which negotiates on Greenland's behalf in the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Orgnization, last week refused to accept new limits on salmon. If Greenland establishes its own harvesting limits for this season, the salmon population in the Northeast could be devastated. More than $150 million has been spent trying to restore the area's salmon populations, but populations have plummeted.
