Summary:ABSTRACT Songs and rhymes are often used as a medium for delivering messages, strung together using rhyming words. Thus, the message conveyed is easy to remember and more interesting to enjoy. The topic that will be discussed in this research is the moral message and rhyme in the song titled Forgotten Promises by Sami Yusuf, an Iranian-blooded religious music singer who was born in England. Forgotten Promises is a song that describes the crisis situation in Africa. In addition, the moral message in Taufik Ismail's poem entitled Do'a will also be discussed. Prayer is a poem published in 1966, the lyrics contain a request for forgiveness from God Almighty. This study aims to explain the moral message that the creators want to convey to literary connoisseurs, especially in this literary work of songs and poetry created by Sami Yusuf and Taufik Ismail. As in the verse of the song Forgotten Promises "our words must count" and in the prayer poem "May you be willing to accept us back in your ranks". In addition, what will be discussed in this study is rhyme. The type of rhyme that is described is the type most found in the contents of his literary works. As for the method used, this study uses a qualitative method, with a structural-functionalism analysis approach, whose subjects are focused on songs by Sami Yusuf and poetry by Taufik Ismail. The lyrics of the two literary works in the form of prayer must contain a moral message in each stanza. The results of this study indicate that the delivery of meaningful prayers and moral messages is not only found in holy books such as the Qur'an and hadith, but also in a literary works. By using rhyme in the lyrics of the prayer, make a prayer that is conveyed through songs and poetry feels deeper.
