The article deals with the historical stages of industrial development of South Yakutia - the main springboard "new" industrialization of the republic in the first quarter of the XXI century. The authors pose the main aim of learning lessons from the historical experience of previous waves of industrial development of Yakutia. They stress the need for the transition from an extensive to an intensive strategy of modernization process in the region as a key to their success. The main conclusion is the proposition that the "new" industrialization of Yakutia may not repeat the mistakes of the previous stages of industrial development and the need to focus on resource saving technologies, the use of local labor resources and improving the quality of human life.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.12731/2218-7405-2013-2-14 Статья посвящена исследованию исторических этапов промышленного освоения Южной Якутии – основного плацдарма «новой» индустриализации республики в первой четверти ХХ1 в. Авторы ставят в качестве основной цели извлечение уроков из исторического опыта предыдущих волн индустриального развития Якутии. Акцентируется внимание на необходимости перехода от экстенсивной к интенсивной стратегии модернизационных процессов в регионе как залоге их успешной реализации. Основным выводом является положение о том, что «новая» индустриализация не вправе повторять ошибок предыдущих этапов промышленного развития и должна ориентироваться на ресурсосберегающие технологии, использование местных трудовых ресурсов и улучшение качества жизни человека.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.12731/2218-7405-2013-2-14
