Статья посвящена вопросу конструирования городской идентичности в малых городах современной России. Вопрос исследования развития малых городов России является актуальным, поскольку их роль в экономическом, культурном и духовном плане развития России чрезвычайно велика. В ходе исследования дискурсивных пространств малых городов России были затронуты следующие вопросы: какие элементы включает в себя понятие городской идентичности, какие этапы включает в себя процесс формирования городской идентичности. Также были выделены пути конструирования идентичности и инструменты трансляции конструкта в обществе. Основной методологией в исследовании выступил социальный конструкционизм, методом – дискурс-анализ.Автор выделяет эффективные и неэффективные пути конструирования, основываясь на современном опыте малых городов и делает вывод о том, что только комплексное использование естественно сформировавшихся в сообществе символов и мифов приводит к созданию эффективного конструкта идентичности малого города. Также важным элементом в процессе контруирования является включение населения в конкретные дискурсивные практики с использованием данного конструкта. Без подобного включения процесс не может быть эффективным. The goal of the present research is to investigate the problem of constructing the urban identity of Russian small towns. The objectives of this research are: to devote elements of the concept of urban identity, to inquire the studies of the process of constructing the urban identity and to make recommendations for imroving situation. Also the constructing ways and the tools of implanting the identity were demonstrated. We follow the methology of social constructionism and the discourse-analysis method.There are two ways of constructing the urban identity in the small towns of Russia: «with history»: Pereyaslavl, Uglich, Rostov, Galich, Suzdal, etc. Also, in addition to the cities of the Golden ring is Staraya Russa (Novgorod region), Usolye, Cherdyn; and «without history»: Chusovoy, Chernushka, Gornozavodsk, Kostomuksha (Karelia) etc.We discovered effective and ineffective constructing ways and concluded that only a combination of different areas and practices leads to effective construct of the urban identity.The important element of the process of constructing the urban identity is engaging the population in social and discoursive practices.
