Les trois thèmes principaux retenus pour cette nouvelle édition de la chronique arctique (et antarctique) sont les suivants : 1. la naissance du Nunavut 2. L'origine des communautés végétales et animales présentes au Groenland 3. Les mystères du lac Vostok. Suivent les désormais traditionnelles « brèves de l'Arctique » qui tendent à s'allonger en raison du nombre croissant de publications, expositions et colloques relatifs au monde polaire. Three major topics are dealed with in this new edition of the « arctic and antarctic chronicle » : 1. The creation of the Nunavut territory 2. The discussion about the origin of the plants and animals living in Greenland 3. The mysteries of Lake Vostok. Then, a development is devoted to the «polar news » reviewing some of the many recent publications, scientific meetings and exhibitions concerning the polar areas.
