MERIAN cruise MSM129/2. Data was recorded on 28 days between 2024-06-07 and 2024-07-04. This dataset contains a transit survey mostly in the Labrador Sea and further east in the North Atlantic Ocean (south of Greenland). The approximate average depth of the entire dataset is around 3200m. The data cover also two seamounts which is predicted in the database of Gevorgian et al. 2023 (survey line through the centre), however only one of those predicted seamounts can be clearly seen in the data. Artificial sound velocity profiles (SVP) have been used to calibrate the system using the World Ocean Atlas 09 & World Ocean Atlas 13 retrieved through the SoundSpeedManager (SSM 2020.0.11). Ancillary sound velocity profiles (SVP) files from the cruise are added to this dataset. Data are unprocessed and therefore contains incorrect depth measurements (artifacts) without further processing. Note that refraction errors can be expected due to the lack of proper SVP. Overall, the data quality is rather good since the gridded hillshade data showed relatively few obstacles. This publication is conducted within the efforts of the German Marine Research Alliance in the core area 'Data management and Digitalization' (Deutsche Allianz Meeresforschung, DAM). Data can be processed e.g. with the open source software package MB-System (Caress, D. W., and D. N. Chayes, MB-System: Mapping the Seafloor, http://www.mbari.org/products/research-software/mb-system/, 2023).
