Relative and absolute abundance records of three IRD particle groups and six major IRD lithologies of sediment core GeoB18530-1
As detailed in Bukar et al. (2024), the 22 classifiable IRD lithologies can be group according to their preferred affiliation to Heinrich Layers (HL) and Interlayers (IL). Group 1 has higher relative abundance during HLs, Group 3 has a higher percentage during ILs, while Group 2 is similarly high re...

Group 1 has higher relative abundance during HLs, Group 3 has a higher percentage during ILs, while Group 2 is similarly high represented in HLs and ILs. This data set contains relative and absolute IRD count records of Groups 1-3 and the six major IRD lithologies (Shale, Sucrosic Dolomite, Shocked Quartz, Hematite-coated Quartz, Muscovite-Biotite Granite, Ooid-bearing Dolomite). All here presented count records were smoothed by a weighed 5-point (factors 1-2-5-2-1) running mean to reduce stochastic high-frequency noise related to the relative small individual count numbers.
