The samples were collected during cruise SO245 with R/V Sonne as part of the GEOTRACES process study GPpr09. Across 8 stations, dissolved Nd ranges from 10.76 to 31.1 pmol/kg with an overall increase with water depth, but slightly lower concentrations in the deep southeast Pacific compared to the southwest Pacific. The isotope composition shows ε-Nd values ranging from -3.9 to -8.5 with lowest ε-Nd (ε-Nd = -7.5 to -8.5) in the deep Pacific west of the EPR and more radiogenic ε-Nd values (ε-Nd = -4 to -6) east of the EPR. The ε-Nd values can be largely explained by the mixing of deep water masses from the Southern Ocean and the North Pacific, whereas Nd show the influence of non-conservative processes expressed in a distinct mid-depth depletion across the transect.
