Summary: | The dataset contains digital maps of organic carbon stocks (kg m⁻²) relating to the upper ten centimetres of the sediment column and ²¹⁰Pb-based organic carbon accumulation rates (g m⁻² yr⁻¹) of sediments on the Norwegian continental margin including the North, Norwegian, and Barents Seas. The results are presented as geo-referenced floating-point TIFF-files with a spatial resolution of 4 km and Lambert Azimuthal Equal-Area projection as spatial reference. Stocks were calculated based on spatially predicted organic carbon content and dry bulk density. Accumulation rates were calculated based on spatially predicted organic carbon content, dry bulk density and sediment accumulation rates. All three spatial models also derived prediction uncertainties and areas of applicability of the model (Meyer & Pebesma, 2021). Uncertainties were propagated by taking the square root of the sum of squared relative uncertainties. Areas of applicability of the organic carbon stocks and accumulation rates were calculated by multiplying individual areas of applicability. |
