Summary: | Detailed alternating field (AF) demagnetization of Natural Remanent Magnetization (NRM) was conducted on u-channel samples of sediment core PS72/396-5, complemented by Anhysteretic Remanent Magnetization (ARM) and Isothermal Remanent Magnetization (IRM) acquisition measurements and subsequent demagnetization. AF demagnetization data of NRM were analyzed using anchored Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to obtain the Characteristic Remanent Magnetization (ChRM). A number of parameters, i.e. median destructive fields (MDF of NRM, ARM, and IRM), pseudo S-ratio, ratio of ARM to IRM Intensities, both demagnetized at an alternating field of 100 mT, was calculated.
