These were weighted on one end and affixed with a 22.86 cm ring 20 cm from the other, to increase stability. Positions were recorded every 2 minutes by a GPS emitter inside the top 20 cm of the tube, which remained above water. Sampling was done from September 9 to 11, 2003.
