The aim was to be able to estimate the heterogeneity in age between small samples of foraminifera from the same depth and core. Radiocarbon dating was performed by Accelerated Mass Spectrometry (AMS) using a Mini Carbon Dating System (MICADAS) (Wacker et al. 2010) at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Bremerhaven, Germany, using a gas target and following standard operating procedures. Blanks were processed and correction performed according to a procedure in Sun et al. (2020).
