Stable isotopes measured on N. pachyderma and C. neoteretis of sediment core PS93/025

Measured stable isotopes of N. pachyderma & C. neoteretis (without vital effect correction). The sampled sediment record PS93/025, consisting of the Giant box core (GKG) PS93/025-1 (80.481°N, 8.487°W, 291.3 m water depth) and the Kastenlot core (KAL) PS93/025-2 (80.482°N, 8.490°W, 290.2 m water...

The presented data covers the last ca. 10.6 ka. For stable oxygen and carbon isotope analyses, ca. 30 specimens of N. pachyderma and the benthic foraminifer species Cassidulina neoteretis from the 100–250 μm fraction were used. The measurement interval is 1 cm for both species between 264 and 93 cm, whereas it shifts to ca. 2 cm for the benthic species and 5 cm for the planktic species between 93 cm and 0.5 cm, due to low numbers of specimens. All analyses were carried out on a MAT 253 mass spectrometer system and a KIEL IV Carbonate Preparation Device at the GEOMAR Stable Isotope Laboratory with a long-term analytical accuracy of <0.06‰ for δ18O and <0.03‰ for δ13C. Results are expressed in the δ notation referring to the PDB (Pee Dee Belemnite) standard while using NBS 19. Aim of the study was to reconstruct the climatic and paleoceanographic variability offshore Northeast Greenland during the last ca. 10ka with multidecadal resolution.
