Summary: | Dissolved barium was measured on a subset of samples collected during the 2015 POLARSTERN ARK-XXIX/3 expedition. Samples were quantified following the methods of Jacquet et al. (2005) on a ThermoFisher Element 2 inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer using isotope dilution mass spectroscopy at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks (UAF). Intercalibrations between the UAF laboratory and the US GEOTRACES PI (Alan Shiller) suggest that the measurements of both NASS 6 and GEOTRACES standard water agree to within approximately 2%. |
