Part of the freeze-dried sample was weighed and then washed on a 63-µm sieve and further separated into 63- to 125-, 125- to 500-, 500- to 1000-, and >1000-µm fractions using an ATM-SONIC-Sifter. The 125- to 500-µm fraction was chosen for particle count procedure.
