A cool oscillation abruptly interrupted this warm phase between 12,000 and 11,000 years B.P. Initiation of this cooling therefore preceded the northern hemisphere Younger Dryas by approximately 1000 years. Complete warming was reached by 10,000 years B.P., more or less synchronous with the northeast Atlantic Ocean.
