Description
Summary:Front: Script at top of postcard reads, "Eskimo Inn - 'Where Friends Meet' - Winona Lake, Indiana." Back: Body of message reads, "Winona Lake, 8/15/44. Dear Friend: Thank you for forwarding our mail to us. We still are very warm and dry up here, but have a grand time. We plan to go to Judson for next Sunday to visit friends there. Do Not Forward any mail to us after Thursday, the 17th. We leave here at noon on Saturday. Trust all is well with you - Sincerely your friends, The Rixes." Addressed to, "Mrs. Lula Swope, Greensberg, #5, Indiana." There was nothing fancy about the original Eskimo Inn. Its location at the northwest corner of Park Ave. and Administration Blvd. was near the tabernacle. By today's standards most of the facilities at Winona were simple in nature. However the attendees of the day did not seem to mind.
