Summary:Gospel Trumpet 1881-June 3, 1962, Vital Christianity June 10, 1962-Sept. 1996, One Voice June/July 2004-Apr/May 2007 COMMA CITY, IND. DEAR BRETHREN OP THE TauarnEr— Praise God! we are still onprayingground, saved by the blood of Christ, and out of prison. We were only shut upfive days for Christ's sake. Praise the Lord! it only fixed us more firm on the Rock, Christ Jesus. When we were put in, the sheriff' told us that we had to stay 35 days. Glory to Jesus! we were perfectly willing to suffer it joyfully, through Christ Jesus. The Constable and Esquire came down to the jail to see us. They told us that if we would never go about them, ( The religious idolaters who had been disturbed by the testimony we suppae— Ed.) they would throw their fees off, and let us out. We told them that we would promise nothing but to obey Gothand be led by His Spirit-. I praise God that we have His . Spirit to lead us. The Lord is our only class- lead-er, Shepherd, and Bishop. The sects have a meeting in our neigh-borhood, and they have given strict orders that no one should be allowed to say any thing against their babel. Glory to God in the highest! There is lie- thing there for me. I am saved from all the works of the devil, and God has bruised'satan un-der my feet. The sects tall us the" come- ° titers." But we are abiding in Christ; while they have gone out of the true Church of God, and have hewn out to themselves broken cisterns which can hold noFirrvoaitnery.— ouJrubdre l i, 19. Christ, saved and sanctified. Samuel & John 11am sey. DusavrizE, Mica. I am trusting inAhe Lord. Hallelujah to God and the Lamb forever! My heart is filled with praises to God. We - have meetings every Tuesday night. There is only five of us here, but God is with us in power. Glory to God ! I. do enjoy a full and free salvation. I am. saved just now. Glory ! glory !! to God! I am under the blood, and wholly sanctified. Your sister, redeemed. - Mary A, Smith. S. L. My dear breth-ren and sisters in the Lord, when I heard the mighty power of God preached, the Spirit began to work with me. and showed me such strong visions that there was something more for me to do. I had be-longed to the sect about three or four years : I was justified, but not sanctified. So when Bro. Fisher came to Red Lion and preached sanctification, I be-gan to examine my Bible; and I found we had to become pure even as He is pure. And I made a death bed consecration to God, promising Him to give up all to Him, mad be led by Him. And when I did this God gloriously sanctified my soul, and set me free, giving me great power to testify for Him. Well I still had my name on the Methodist sect book, and Bro. Fisher said, " You had better get your name out of it." Well I thought it would be all right if I would still leave it in. I thought I could get along after promising God to give up ev-ery thing; so I let it go. For some time it would come to my mind there was something I had left undone. 1 began to lose my power. I said to my wife that I seemed to be getting weaker, and it came to my mind when I consecrated myself to the Lord I would give up all to Him, and be free. And He showed me that I was not free when I had my name on the sect book. Praise God! I got the pen and ink, and left it to God, mid said I would write as the Spirit moved me. I wrote to have my name taken from the sect book; and since that have received more of the Holy Ghost in my soul than ever. It is like a well of living water constantly flowing out of my soul. Some will say, I don't see what harm your name will be on a class book. Does not the Lord say " Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers" ? Some will say there are no unbelievers in the church ( or sect). Praise God! we know there are none in the true Church, which is Jesus Christ. Some say we do not understand it in that way. God says the wicked shall not understand; but the wise shall un-derstand, and they shall shine as the firmament for-ever and ever. Praise God for the glorious light! Oh ever precious Savior He saves me to . the utter-most, and preserves me blameless. My experience since the Assembly at Geneva, has been truly won-derful. During my short stay at this meeting, I was given clearer conceptions of the divine will con-cerning me, and felt that I was nearing the point of faith where I should be made whole. On the morn-ing of Sept. 26, while alone in prayer, I was eRgulfed in a wonderful flood of healing glory, and received a most satisfactory evidence that the work was done. Oh how wonderful that such glory and power can be experienced here below. Oh praise our Omnipo-tent God, who healeth ALL our diseases, as well as forgiveth all our iniquities. Oh I am lost, so com-pletely lost to all but God; lost in wonder, love and praise. Just one week later I was again afflicted in anoth-er Iona. And the Spirit sweetly whispered, " Is there Y persecuting, abusing and excom-municating each- other, the churches do cruel injustice to their common Lord, and followers. They contract His King-dom and His power they lower Him from His kingly throne to the head- ship of a sect or party or school they hate those whom He loves, and for whom He died they curse those whom He blesses, and violate the judgmental law of His Gospel."
