Summary: | The millet grown in Patan district are Bajara (Pennisetum typhoides) and Jowar (Sorghum bicolor) cultivated in 163371 hectares and spread over the following talukas viz., Siddhpur, Patan, Chanasama, Harij, Sami, Radhanpur, Santalpur. In the rural economy of an agricultural birds play a vital role since some birds are beneficial or useful to him and others claim a heavy toll of his produce. During the present investigation 86 bird species were found in summer pearl millet field from which maximum number of bird population observed in Laughing Dove (3117), Yellow Legged Green Pigeon (2314), White throated Kingfisher (1298), Brahminy Kite (1241), Grey Francolin (1200) so on.KEY WORDS: Birds, Population, Pearl millet, Agroecosystem, Patan district.
