Summary:This report presents the results of a study undertaken to locate a site for the construction of a biomass cogeneration plant in the state of Maine. On the basis of the study, the site selected was Westbrook, Maine. The evaluation of sites was based on comparison of site-related variables such as: adequate biomass availability; cogeneration potential (market for steam produced); water availability; air quality compliance; access roads; site area required; and adequate tie-ins with electric power grids for sale of electricity produced.
