Summary: | It is shown that photovoltaic/thermal collector areas as low as 10 m/sup 2/ are favorably matched to the operation of a conventional warm-air heating system. This was done by simulating the performances of three combined-collector heating systems which were designed to operate primarily in the boosting mode. Comparison of the annual performances of these systems permits determination of which components should be included in a retrofit system. The additional components considered are a thermal storage tank and a heat pump. |
