Summary:Conversation between Valya and Akuguks. Anatoly is Apunga’s son. He has a nice apartment in one of the new buildings, built in response to the devastation of the April 2006 earthquake which rendered several buildings uninhabitable.The previous video was interrupted because I had to manually change to recording to the B-slot when Video_3 filled up. A few seconds were lost, covered by the Tascam recording. Anatoly gives some vocabulary related to the sled he is finishing. Plus ambient audio recordings. Retired reindeer herder. Makes sleds for sale--minature reindeer sleds for souvenirs and full size sleds to tow behind snowmobile. Born in Verkh-Pakhachi and taken to Khailino when young. Fluent in Russian, seemed to speak mostly Chavchuven on video. Works in Institute for Advanced Teacher Training, Palana. She was born in a yaranga on the tundra. Also fluent (listening, reading, some writing/speaking) in English and Japanese. Alutor level is elementary.
