Mr Sami Vendelinus (born c. 1952), recorded in my, that is Wongga Luthe's, home in the evening 18 June -15 in kampong Nara. This is 'huru rera' (huru tuber species). The curse uses ‘rera’ rootfruits and leaves. Pierce twice with wood and hang in a branch (double, cabang). Cut (pake) the fruit tree. Symptoms: Loss of voice/throat ache. Cannot eat and saliva dribbling all the time. Cure: Chew areca betel with rera, seku (BI. kencur), kuni (curcumin) / ginger, apply on throat. Nothing about 'oeju' or 'siko' (but was probably done in the past), or 'bulu wao', but he explains, and demonstrated while recording, 'baga', to measure on one's arms to find out something, like whose 'huru' an ill person is afflicted by or who is abke to cure it. This huru is from Sami's family, his father and back. The recording was done directly with the H4N because I knew had to ask questions and that the several persons present would want to add something to the other's narrations. Finally I got to record the local "healers", with all the nearby practitioners; Paulus Pidhu, Veronika Punga, Meli Pisane, Sami Vendelinus. Lebi (sister) and Wongga (husband) listening.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47814.
