Description
Summary:A total of 41 beetle species of the family Staphylinidae (10 subfamilies, 20 genera) were found in the upper basin of the Nizhnyaya Agapa River (Western Taimyr, the southern taiga subzone). The subfamily Omalinae includes 13 species (9 genera), Aleocharinae, 13 (3), Tachyporinae, 5 (2), and Steninae, 4 (1). Each of the families Proteininae, Xantholininae, Oxytelinae, Staphylininae, Paederinae, and Euaesthetinae is represented by a single species. According to their geographical distribution, the species are classified into Holarctic (34%), Transpalae-arctic (5), Siberian (55), and Euro-Siberian (3%). The proportion of landscape-zonal staphylinid groups in the area investigated is typical of the southern tundra subzone. The prevalent forms in the fauna are arcto-boreal (32%) and arcto-boreomontane (17), along with the taiga zonal (20), arctic (20), and polyzonal species. Most of species inhabit intrazonal areas, only 7 representing zonal ones.
