Summary: | The analysis of data on the trophic structure of intertidal macrobenthos communities of the estuary of the Black River revealed the predominance of the small species, feeding on detritus (Hydrobia ulvae, Oligochaeta, Chironomidae and young Macoma balthica), in the brackish zone of the estuary, and of the larger detritus feeders (Macoma balthica) in the brackish-marine zone; scrapers (Littorina saxatilis) and sestonophages (Mya arenaria) were subdominant species. In the areas of active water flow processes — on the upper and especially lower rapids at the exit from the estuary of the Black River — sedentary sestonophages Mytilus edulis prevailed. Mytilus edulis. Published
